RALEIGH — A Franklinton man who stored and traded more than 2,200 child porn images on his computer was sentenced last week to 17.5 years in federal prison.

Andrew David Phillips, 28, pleaded guilty in March 2018 to a charge of distribution of child pornography in U.S. District Court.

Judge James C. Denver III sentenced him on April 3 to 210 months imprisonment followed by 10 years of supervised release, according to a press release from the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of North Carolina.

Federal prosecutors said that investigators determined Phillips used a computer to store at least 2,200 images of child pornography. He also traded the images and videos with others in exchange for other images of child porn.

The case was investigated by the Raleigh Police Department and the FBI, according to the release.

The U.S. Department of Justice said it does not provide mugshots of defendants.
