LOUISBURG — A 32-year-old man was found dead in his cell in the Franklin Detention Center around 5:30 a.m. on March 7, according to a news release from the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office.
Detention officers discovered the body of Brian Alfred Rogers, of Raleigh, while conducting inmate checks. The sheriff’s office said there was no signs of foul play or suspicious activity.
“The sheriff’s office is saddened at the loss of life and extends their condolences to the individual’s family,” Franklin County Sheriff Kent Winstead said in the release.
As is standard procedure, the State Bureau of Investigation was requested to investigate the death.
