WAKE FOREST — The Carolina Aviators finished their inaugural season 3-2 overall after winning by forfeit against the Tampa Bay Tigers on June 22.
Now Wake Forest’s indoor league football team is gearing up for the Elite Indoor Football Championship against the Southern Steam on Aug. 20 at 3 p.m.
Aviators head coach Barry Marrow said that he was happy with how his team played in their first season.
“With the first regular season over, I am very impressed with the guys we brought in,” Marrow said. “The players we assembled were very coachable players. It made the process a lot easier.”
The Aviators will play the first-place Southern Steam in the EIF championship game. The Steam out of Jacksonville, Florida finished the regular season 5-1 overall. They lead the EIF in points with 237 and points allowed with 150.
