WAKE FOREST — Wake Forest’s Carolina Aviators indoor football team returned to The Factory on May 25 with a 44-34 win over the Carolina Wildcats on Military Appreciation Night.
The Wildcats took a narrow 12-8 lead at the end of the first quarter. The Aviators improved offensively in the second to take a 30-26 edge going into halftime. After a scoreless third quarter, the Aviators outscored the Wildcats 14-10 in the fourth quarter to run away with the 44-34 victory.
Brandon Leake led the offense with two touchdown receptions and two rushing touchdowns. Running back Mar’Kevian Harrelson scored three rushing touchdowns. Quarterback D’Marcus Winston threw two passing touchdowns and also had a rushing TD.
Linebacker Lawrence Holman led the defense with 10 tackles and three sacks. Cornerback Taylin Davis and linebacker Kaevon Bracey finished with eight tackles apiece.
The Aviators will be back in action Saturday when they host the Georgia-Lina Lions at The Factory. Kickoff is at 7 p.m. Tickets can be found online at thecarolinaaviators.com.
