WAKE FOREST — The Wake Forest Area Chamber has launched a new, local website for area employers and job seekers.

Called Wake Forest Works, the site is intended to bring together businesses and employees in one place where all the job opportunities are in the immediate area.

“Although we live in a dynamic area where there are all kinds of employment opportunities, many people who live in and around Wake Forest want to work here as well,” said Ann Welton, president of the Wake Forest Area Chamber. “Very few people really want a 30- to 45-minute commute every day. At the same time, employers are also looking for dependable employees who live in the area. This website provides a clearinghouse for these local jobs.”

The site launched Feb. 17, and businesses that are members of the Wake Forest Area Chamber have been invited to post any open positions.

“With around 700 businesses that are chamber members, we expect to see a wide variety of jobs listed. In just a couple of days, many jobs have been listed across many industries,” said Welton.

Businesses must be a chamber member to use the site. If they are chamber members, it’s free to use. Job seekers can register, upload resumes and look for jobs at no cost.

“We’re excited to offer one more benefit to the business community in Wake Forest. As a chamber, our mission is to help area businesses grow and thrive. And nothing is more important than having the right employees,” Welton said.

The website is http://wakeforestworks.com.

Area businesses that would like to use the site may contact the chamber to learn more about the benefits of membership at http://wakeforestchamber.org or 919-556-1519.
