The Miracle League of Franklin County is having an online quarter auction June 5 to raise money.

Greater New Life Ministries, 86 Pocomoke Road, Franklinton, is holding an afternoon of traditional gospel music at 1 p.m. on Saturday, June 6. The event will include music by CHOZEN of Wake Forest, Men of Fellowship, the Dynamique Singers of Faith, Marvin Bobbitt and the Rising Sons, ReNewed of the Carolinas, Resurrection, and Promise of Roanoke Rapids. The event will be recorded for “The Gospel Belt Live” internet show.
This is a free drive-in event. Limited non-vehicle space is available. Offerings are welcome. Hot dogs and drinks will be available for purchase.

National Trails Day 5K, planned for Saturday, June 6, at E. Carroll Joyner Park, has been postponed due to the pandemic.
Wake Forest is seeking residents to service on the Cemetery Advisory Board.

Every year during the Southern Baptist Convention, Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary hosts an event for alumni and friends. The convention was canceled this year, but the Southeastern Alumni & Friends event, scheduled for 12 p.m. on Wednesday, June 10, will be livestreamed online. AARP Foundation has suspended its service where counselors prepare and e-file individual federal and N.C. state income tax returns at the senior centers in Louisburg and Franklinton.
Tax Day for federal and state tax returns has been postponed to July 15. The AARP Foundation intends to resume tax preparation assistance in Franklinton and Louisburg as soon as facilities become available. AARP staff plan to accommodate everyone who needs assistance. Information will be posted when it is decided to reopen the facilities.
The Franklin County Arts Council Writers’ Guild is sponsoring its eighth annual Writers’ Guild Carolina Prize for Writing Contest. The contest is open for previously unpublished works.

Each prize will be $100, publication in the 2021 issue of “County Lines: A Literary Journal” and two copies of the journal. Up to five honorable mentions may also be named.
County Lines Literary Journal is an annual literary anthology compiled by the Franklin County Arts Council Writers’ Guild. The Writers’ Guild is calling for entries of prose, poetry and art for the eighth edition to be published for 2021. There are no restrictions on age or residence of persons submitting.
County Lines Literary Journal is accepting poetry, short or flash fiction, essays, and creative nonfiction. They will not accept work containing erotica, violence, hate, political editorial, or excessive profanity. The person whose art is chosen for the cover will be awarded $25.

The 10th annual Bunn Fun Run and Walk, originally scheduled for May 2, is now rescheduled to Oct. 31. Proceeds will benefit A Blessing soup kitchen. Register online at http://www.runNC.com.
Due to the continuing limitations on large public gatherings, Louisburg College is postponing some shows at the Seby B. Jones Performing Arts Center. The Capitol Steps show has been rescheduled for Friday, Dec. 4 while Rumours: A Tribute to Fleetwood Mac was rescheduled for Friday, Oct. 16.
