Tickets on sale for Renaissance Centre’s ‘Merry Country Christmas’

The Wake Forest Renaissance Centre for the Arts will host three performances of “Live from Nashville — Merry Country Christmas” on Saturday and Sunda. Saturday’s showtime is 7 p.m., while Sunday showtimes are 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. Tickets are $25 each plus tax and can be purchased online at www.wakeforestrencen.org/tickets-events. Advance tickets may also be purchased with cash, check or credit card at the Renaissance Centre Box Office, 405 S. Brooks St. All three performances are expected to sell out, so anyone interested in attending is encouraged to purchase their tickets now. A variety of concessions, including beer and wine, will be available for purchase during each performance. Wake Forest Letters for Santa mailbox now available

The town of Wake Forest has installed a “Letters for Santa” mailbox in Jones Plaza at the intersection of South White Street and East Jones Avenue. Children of all ages are invited to bring their letters to Santa’s Mailbox anytime between now and Tuesday, Dec. 24, for immediate delivery to the North Pole. Letters received by Sunday will receive a personal response from Santa Claus himself. No postage is required, but all letters should include a return address. Volunteers needed for tax assistance program

The Zebulon AARP Tax Assistance Program located at the Eastern Regional Center, 1002 Dogwood St., Zebulon is seeking volunteers to provide tax assistance in the nearby communities. The AARP program is a free tax assistance program for anyone, needing assistance with tax preparation. Training will start soon. ‘Foretold — Stories of Christmas’

Newhope Church, 3400 Rogers Road, Wake Forest will host its ‘Foretold — Stories of Christmas’ special Christmas series through Christmas Eve. “This is a message series that connects the miraculous birth of Jesus to the words of the prophecy spoken thousands of years before, predicting, with amazing precision, the events that would unfold that very first Christmas,” says Dr. Benji Kelley, founding and senior pastor of Newhope Church. Safe Space awareness program

Safe Space, a local domestic violence and sexual assault program, this month is hosting dining awareness programs at different Wake Forest restaurant locations. The events are meant to raise awareness, educate the community and raise funds. Events will be held Monday from 5-8 p.m. at Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburgers, 11708 Retail Drive, Wake Forest; and Tuesday from 5-8 p.m. at Mellow Mushroom, 2125 S. Main St., Wake Forest.
