Cougars win season’s first golf match

RALEIGH — Two Wake Forest golfers tied for low medalist to help the Cougars win first place in the season opener at Wakefield TPC Tuesday.

Josh Buxbaum and Finn Jarrell both shot a 40 in their individual scores. Wake Forest won as a team with a score of 173. Liam Harris shot a 46 and Will Carpenter scored a 47 for the Cougars.

Heritage finished in second place with a 182. Ryder Massey was the low scorer for the Huskies with an individual score of 43.

Wakefield came in third place as the host team. The Wolverines shot a 188 with Logan Swank as their best scorer after shooting a 44.

Corinth Holders scored 193 and Rolesville finished right behind them at 196. Both Winston Grant and Mikey Neal shot a 43 for the Rams.

The next NAC 6 conference golf match will be at Heritage Golf Course on March 24 at 3 p.m.
