DURHAM — Members of the Gen. James Moore Chapter participated in a flag retirement ceremony on Flag Day, June 14, at West Point on the Eno in Durham.

The ceremony was sponsored by the Gen. Davie Chapter of the North Carolina District VI of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution. Debby Butler, Chapter Regent, and two Children of the American Revolution members participated in the ceremony.

Anthony Vitrano is a rising sophomore and Marisa Vitrano is a rising senior at Wakefield High School. Both are members of the CAR Joel Lane Society in Raleigh. Others included Sara Powell and Karen Powers, who also represented the United Daughters of the Confederacy, Carolyn Coordes, Becca Lau, and Edna Powers.
