ZEBULON — The Wake County Sheriff’s Office arrested a man accused of accidentally shooting a neighbor with a shotgun Sunday evening, injuring her arm.
The victim, who deputies said was an adult woman, was treated for minor injuries at the scene, according to a press release.
The sheriff’s office was called to the 7400 block of Poodle Lane, about 5 miles north of Zebulon just before 9:30 p.m.
Brandon Carlysle, 36, who lives on the block, “fired a shotgun while the victim and several others were standing on their porch,” witnesses told deputies, according to the press release.
Carlysle, whose name is spelled Carlyle in jail records, was arrested and charged with assault with a deadly weapon.
The sheriff’s office said the investigation is ongoing. A spokesman for the sheriff's office said Monday that deputies believe the shooting was accidental.
