Dec. 16, 1942 — Nov. 6, 2020

KITTRELL — Donald Wayne Allen, 77, passed away peacefully on Nov. 6, 2020, at Transitions Life Care in Raleigh.

He was born on Dec. 16, 1942, in Wake County to the late Leamon Howard and Myrtle Ray Allen. In addition to his parents, Donald was preceded in death by his wives, Carolyn Baker Allen and Carolyn Lowery Allen; stepson, Jones Wayne Hart Jr.; and brothers, Leamon Allen Jr., Bruce Allen, Clayton Allen and Kenneth Allen.

Donald’s pride and joy was spending time with his family that he loved to the fullest. Donald loved to tinker with McCormick Farmall tractors. He also enjoyed the outdoors where he would often find time to hunt, fish or just cruise around his farm on his golf cart with his dogs J.R. and Rocky.

He was a man of his word. He always said “a man is only as good as his word. So, if he gave you his word, it was being set in stone.”

He is survived by his loving daughter, Karen Allen Cooke (Joseph); grandchildren, Lindsey Cooke (Kristen) and Wesley Cooke; great-grandson, Wyatt Cooke; sisters, Bobbie Driver, Betty Sue Berry, Alice Jones and Glenda Moody; and brothers, Ricky Allen and Timothy Allen.

A service to honor Donald’s life was held 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 11, in the Chapel of Lancaster Funeral and Cremation Services, 804 N. Bickett Blvd., Louisburg. The Rev. Bruce Tucker officiating. The family received friends following the services. Masks and social distancing are required.
