WAKE FOREST — The Carolina Junior Canes defeated the Hampton Roads Whalers at home Saturday in both the Elite and Premier games at The Factory. It’s the first time both teams beat the Whalers in franchise history. The Elites are undefeated at 10-0 and the Premiers are 7-3.

The Junior Canes are Wake Forest’s club hockey team and are currently ranked in the United States Premier Hockey League. Both squads will be on the road this weekend and then have a bye the following week.

On Saturday, Oct. 26, the Junior Canes will play the Charlotte Rush at 6 p.m. and 8:45 p.m. at The Factory. There will be a meet the players signing after the Elite game. They will also play Sunday, Oct. 27 at 9 a.m. and 11:45 a.m.

Day prices for two games: 12 and under free, 13 and over $10, but with student ID $5; seniors and military $5. The games will be played in the Wake Forest Polar Ice House in The Factory.

The team’s hashtag on Twitter is #usphljrcanes and fans can nominate their favorite breast cancer fighter/survivor to ring the game siren.
