The Greenfield School girls basketball team extended its undefeated streak to five games by a 23-12 count against Pungo Christian of Belhaven on Monday.
The balanced Lady Knights got seven points from Darcy Dean, six from Fletcher Worrell and four each from Forbes Good and Avery Williams.
Batten, Greefield clip Pungo, 23-12
Behind 11 points from George Batten, the Greenfield School boys basketball team romped to a 23-12 win against Pungo Christian of Belhaven on Monday.
Batten was complemented by Charles Thomas with seven points and Edward Taylor with six.

Lady Chargers still seeking first win

The winless Wilson Christian Academy girls basketball team failed to score in the first and last quarters in dropping a 20-4 outcome to host Rocky Mount Academy on Monday.
Now 0-5, the Lady Chargers got two points each from Melia Hughes and Maggie Rouse.
Rocky Mount’s top scorers were Audrey Roeder and Gabbi Ams with six points each.
WCA opposes Rocky Mount’s Our Lady of Perpetual Help on Wednesday.

WCA Blue falls at Rocky Mount Academy 40-20

ROCKY MOUNT — Briceson Martin led the way with 12 points for the Wilson Christian Blue boys basketball team, but it wasn’t enough to overcome host Rocky Mount Academy in a 40-20 loss on Monday afternoon.
Simon Quinn and Jerome Evans each had three points for the Chargers (4-2), who travel to South Wake Sabres Homeschool on Tuesday.

Wilson Christian remains winless
That first win of 2019-20 continued to elude the Wilson Christian Academy girls basketball team at home last week.
The Lady Chargers were dealt a 28-3 loss by the Lighthouse Eagles of Wake Forest to fall to 0-4.
Lighthouse’s Abigail Huffman poured in 18 points.
WCA got two points from Maggie Rouse and one from Melia Hughes.
