BUNN — Three people are accused of throwing drugs over the fence of the state prison in Bunn, the Franklin County Sheriff's Office said.

Ditereal Harris,18; Xavier White, 18; and Rotonia Lowery Moore, 33, all of Raeford, were arrested Friday by the Franklin County Sheriff's office.

A witness saw three people stop their vehicle in front of the Franklin Correctional Center in Bunn, where one of the passengers jumped out and threw an object over the fence, a press release said.

Two correctional officers also saw the incident and found the item, which held marijuana, cocaine, heroin, methamphetamines and MDMA, commonly called ecstasy.

The citizen witness contacted the sheriff's office, and deputies pulled the vehicle over a short time later.

"This case began when a concerned citizen saw something suspicious, and they acted," Sheriff Kent Winstead said. "By calling the sheriff's office and giving vital information, our deputies were able to find and stop the vehicle. The investigation that developed as a result of their initiative kept dangerous drugs out of the hands of individuals inside the Franklin Correctional Center."

Harris and White are both charged with five counts possession with intent to sell and deliver controlled substances, five counts of delivering controlled substances and felony possession of marijuana.

Both were jailed in the Franklin County Detention Center under $500,000 secured bonds.

Moore is charged with maintaining a vehicle for the purpose of storing controlled substances. She was given a $15,000 unsecured bond.

The investigation is ongoing. Additional charges are expected, deputies said.
