WAKE FOREST — A man suspected in the shooting death of a Wake Forest man last month turned himself into police on New Year's Eve, the town said.

Christopher Lee Lewis Jr. was charged with one count of murder in connection to the Dec. 19 shooting of Myles Anthony Wilson.

Officers responded to a report of shots fired at 10:05 p.m. that day along the 300 block of North Taylor Street. Upon their arrival, officers found Wilson, 22, had been shot. Wilson died as a result of his injuries upon arrival at WakeMed Hospital.

Police said they do not believe the shooting was a random act.
