A woman will be charged with murder after one of three victims involved in a stabbing in Wake Forest Tuesday evening died, police said Wednesday.
The Wake Forest Police Department said it has warrants to arrest Rebecca Ashley Nelson, of Miranda Drive in Raleigh, with murder and two counts of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury.
Nelson, 38, is being treated in a medical facility and will be arrested upon her release. Police did not say how she was injured or what her condition is.
Nelson is accused of stabbing three people on Fairway Villas in Wake Forest, according to a police spokesman. The victims were identified Wednesday as Suzanne Nelson, Susan Carter and Terry Carter.
All were taken to hospitals following the incident. Terry Carter died from his injuries afterward, police announced Wednesday. The conditions of the other victims was not released.
Police were called to the 1100 block of Fairway Villas at 7:34 p.m. Officials said the stabbing didn't seem to be a random act. Detectives are still investigating what happened.
A 911 caller told police one victim was stabbed in the heart.
WAKE FOREST — Three people were injured Tuesday evening in a stabbing in Wake Forest, authorities said.
The Wake Forest Police Department responded to the 1100 block of Fairway Villas at 7:34 p.m., a police spokesman said. Police were still on scene just before 9 p.m.
The three unidentified victims were taken to a hospital. Their conditions weren’t immediately available.
Police said the stabbing did not appear to be a random act.
Officials did not release additional details.
