YOUNGSVILLE — Candidates for U.S. Senate will meet later this month for a health care-focused town hall in Youngsville, organizers said.

The nonpartisan event, billed as a town hall meeting for Sen. Thom Tillis, who is seeking reelection this year, has extended multiple invitations to Tillis to attend the Feb. 20 event. Organizers said Tillis has yet to respond to the phone, email and in-person invitations.

Other candidates for North Carolina’s Senate seat will attend, including Democrats Cal Cunningham and Erica Smith and Libertarian Shannon Bray. The town hall is hosted by Triangle Daily Call to Action and Indivisible Progressives of Franklin County.

Attendees may ask candidates any question and voice concerns. The topic is health care, but discussion of other topics is permitted.

The event will be 6-8:30 p.m. on Feb. 20 at the Youngsville Community Center, 115 E. Main St., Youngsville.
