WAKE FOREST — The Wake Forest Parks, Recreation & Cultural Resources Department will host “Zombie Survival” on Saturday, Oct. 19, from 5:30-7 p.m. at E. Carroll Joyner Park, 701 Harris Road.
Teams comprised of two-to-four players are invited to participate and try to survive a “zombie attack.” Find out who on your team has what it takes to endure the “zombie apocalypse” and which ones are “zombie bait.”
Participating teams will have 60 minutes to retrieve items needed to survive a night in a containment zone. During the game, zombies will attempt to steal your “life flags.” If you make it back to base camp with all your supplies and at least one “life flag,” your team will be named “Zombie Survivors” and have a chance to win the grand prize. If you lose all your flags, the zombies win.
The cost to enter is $20 per team for Wake Forest residents and $35 per team for non-Wake Forest residents. A limited number of team slots remain. To register, visit http://wakeforestnc.recdesk.com/recdeskportal/.
In order for the event to be a “howling” success, zombie volunteers, ages 14 and older, are needed. On the day of the event, volunteers will be transformed into the “undead” by professional face painters, then chase humans from 6-7 p.m.
Volunteers will be required to arrive at the Joyner Park Community Center by 3 p.m. and complete a background check in advance at https://bib.com/SecureVolunteer/Town-of-Wake-Forest-Parks-and-Rec/Disclosure.
All volunteers will receive free food and beverages prior to the event.
Volunteer spots are limited, so anyone interested is urged to contact PRCR Events Coordinator Suja Jacob at sjacob@wakefor
