WAKE FOREST — A local church is holding its second face mask giveaway on Saturday.

Greater Works Community Fellowship, based in Wake Forest, has 150 masks, along with disposable gloves, essential vitamins, cough drops and other emergency supplies.

It will hand out the items from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. at 1428 Hall Road.

“It is our goal to distribute 1,000 masks during the month of May,” Gordon McKinney, the church’s pastor. “As we know, Wake County is among the hardest-hit counties in North Carolina.”

Wake County accounts for more than 1,100 of the 17,000-plus cases in North Carolina.

Greater Works Community Fellowship gave away supplies to residents in need last week as well.

It is asking businesses and citizens to donate to help fund its future giveaways. Donations can be made at http://www.shalludo.org.

“If you do not already have a mask, we hope you can join us on Saturday,” said McKinney.
