A Wake Forest man has been charged with murder after he allegedly punched a man who fell and cracked his head on pavement at a Durham bar earlier this month, the Durham Police Department said Friday.

A warrant has been issued for Daniel Peter Mohar, 34, in the June 5 incident that led to the death of Edward Tivnan, 50, of Durham. Tivnan died as a result of his injuries June 7, police said.

According to police, Mohar and Tivnan were on the patio at Social Games and Brews on West Main Street in Durham around 10:15 p.m. on June 5 when the fight took place.

After Mohar struck Tivnan, Tivnan was found unconscious on the sidewalk and taken to the hospital, where he died two days later.

Investigators say the incident was isolated.
