WAKE FOREST — Wake Forest Power has temporarily suspended all service disconnections for nonpayment until further notice, the town announced.

Wake Forest Power said the move is part of its commitment to serve customers impacted by the COVID-19 outbreak. Other power companies, including Duke Energy and Dominion Energy, announced similar policy shifts during the crisis.

Wake Forest Power will monitor guidance from public health agencies and provide updates on this policy moving forward, it said.

Wake Forest Power customers are urged to avoid paying bills in person and utilize alternate payment methods, including Wake Forest Pre-Pay Power, Online Bill Pay, Automatic Bank Draft and Equal Payment Plan.

Customers can also use a night deposit drop box outside town hall.
