WAKE FOREST — The Wake Forest Town Hall and other administrative offices will be closed Monday in observance of the Veterans Day holiday.
Yard waste and loose leaf collection will be suspended Monday, but trash and recycling collection will not be interrupted. Wake Forest Bus Service, including the Wake Forest-Raleigh Express and the Wake Forest Loop, will also follow the normal schedule.
During the week of Nov. 11, yard waste crews will attempt to complete the normal five-day yard waste collection cycle in four days beginning with Monday’s route and ending with next Friday’s route. For example, on Tuesday, crews will attempt to run Monday’s route and a portion of Tuesday’s route, then on Wednesday finish Tuesday’s route and complete a portion of Wednesday’s route. This effort will continue throughout the week.
In order to ensure that all neighborhoods are serviced properly, residents are urged to leave their normal yard waste and loose leaves in separate piles at the curb by 7 a.m. Tuesday. As always, avoid placing items on or near mailboxes, utility boxes, utility poles or other fixed objects.
Wake Forest residents can track the progress of leaf collection crews by calling the Leaf Collection Hotline at 919-435-9582. The hotline is updated each weekday morning by 8 a.m. with information concerning where crews will be working that day.
Town offices will reopen Tuesday, Nov. 12, at 8 a.m.
Residents can also receive email notifications concerning the town’s holiday operations schedule by signing up for E-Notifier at www.wakeforestnc.gov/communications/e-notifier.
