WAKE FOREST – The Wake Forest Parks and Recreation Department is looking for responsible adults interested in volunteering their time to coach in the following leagues during the upcoming youth basketball season.

The league consists of 5-6-year-old boys and girls coed, 7-8-year-old boys and girls coed, 9-10-year-old boys, 11-12-year-old girls, 13-14-year-old boys and 13-15-year-old girls.

All volunteer coaches must pass a background check. Team practices will begin in November, and the games will be played primarily on weeknights and Saturdays from December through February.

The Wake Forest Parks and Recreation Department’s Youth Basketball Leagues are designed to teach fair play and sportsmanship, develop fundamental basketball skills, and promote a fun and healthy lifestyle.

Anyone interested in sharing these skills with area young people is urged to contact Athletics Specialist KP Kilpatrick at 919-435-9457 or kkilpatrick@wakeforestnc.gov.
