Wakefield produces six female college student athletes

RALEIGH — Wakefield High School held a signing day ceremony Nov. 14. Six female student athletes signed with their respective colleges to play at the next level. The list included four soccer players, a volleyball player and a golfer.

Corbin Reifschneider signed to play soccer at New Jersey Institute of Technology. The forward scored eight goals and dished out an assist as a junior last season.

Makaela Stokes signed to play soccer at Hampton University. The defender scored four goals and recorded an assist in her junior year.

Averee Andrews signed to play soccer at Lees-McRae College in Banner Elk. The defender tallied two assists as a junior last year.

Camille Jernigan signed to play soccer at Longwood University in Farmville, Virginia. The midfielder scored one goal in her junior season.

Sarah Wilson signed to play volleyball at Belmont Abbey College. In four years on varsity, the middle hitter has accumulated 253 kills, 75 aces, 120 blocks, 86 assists and 215 digs.

Lotte Fox signed to play golf at Elon University. She is an all-conference, all-region and all-state golfer for the Wolverines.
