YOUNGSVILLE — A Franklin County man turned himself in on child-sex charges March 29 after state and local authorities raided his home and issued warrants for his arrest.

Jeremy Ward Crawford, a 36-year-old man living in Youngsville, was charged with 10 counts of first-degree sexual exploitation of a minor, the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office announced in a press release.

The sheriff’s office’s Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force partnered with the N.C. State Bureau of Investigation Computer Crimes Division to investigate Crawford. Authorities searched his Atherton Drive home under warrant on March 13, the release said.

Deputies did not say what was found in the home and did not provide details of the case. The charge of sexual exploitation of a minor involves the creation of child pornography.

Crawford turned himself in to the Warren County Sheriff’s Office and was issued a $75,000 secured bond. He posted the bond and was released from custody, the release said.

The case is still being investigated. Anyone with information is asked to call detective L. Nobles at 919-340-4373.
